Opal M. Moore, 73, of Walnut Ridge, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., died on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro after an extensive illness. Born Sept. 28, 1935 in Eaton to the late Floyd W. Hilburn and Clara Mae Hilburn, Ms. Moore was a long time area resident of Lawrence County.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda (Diane) Henson of Paragould, Debra Owens and husband Kevin (Collin) of Buffalo, Minn.; two sons, Donald G. Holmquist of Paragould and Tommy E. Holmquist and wife Laura of Buffalo, Minn.; a half sister, Bernice Turner of Memphis; a half brother, James David Hilburn of Blytheville; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two special friends, J.R. Rodgers and wife Michelle of Walnut Ridge.

Ms. Moore was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Frank Holmquist; husband, Richard Moore; parents, Floyd and Clara Hilburn; a sister, Linda McBride; a half sister, LeNeal Barry; a half brother, Bobby Hilburn; a grandchild, Alex Briesemeister, and a great-grandchild, Andrew Dillan.

Graveside services were 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at the Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock with Rev. Harold Russell officiating. Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Bill Hilburn, Charles Owens, John Willis, Danny Hilburn, Gerald Fears, and J.R. Rodgers.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Dunlap, Sonny Burgess, Larry McFadden, Everett Songer, and Stoney Ripkia.
