John William "Johnny" Hawkins

John William "Johnny" Hawkins, 57, of Caraway, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born at Leachville, he was the son of the late J.W. Hawkins and was a lifelong area resident. He was a retired inventory control manager for Southwire in Osceola. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Caraway First Baptist Church and was a 1969 graduate of Manila High School.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Powell Hawkins of the home; a son, Heath Hawkins and wife, Candace, of Dixon, Mo.; a daughter, Sarah Hawkins of Caraway; his mother, Mary Louise Hawkins of Manila; a brother, Tony Hawkins and wife, Sheila, of Manila; three sisters, Kathy Williams and husband, Ron, of Jonesboro, Sandy Hall of Harrisburg, and Crystal Hawkins of Harrisburg; his mother-in-law, Morene Fincher of Caraway; and two grandchildren, Jaron David Hawkins and Clayton William Hawkins of Dixon.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, April Hawkins.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at the First Baptist Church in Caraway with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
