Dr. John Sewell Williams, 47, of Blytheville died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008. Born Dec. 20, 1960, to James M. "Mac" Williams Jr. and the late Rosemary Williams, he graduated from Blytheville High School in 1979. He was a varsity football payer, a member of the golf team and a member of the National Honor Society, graduating ninth in his class. He graduated from Hendrix College in Conway in 1983 and the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock in 1987. He completed his medical residency in Jonesboro and began his private medical practice in Blytheville in 1990.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by two children, Johnston Charles Allen Williams and Emily Elizabeth Causey Williams; his father, James M. "Mac" Williams; a sister, Alice Causey Williams Nunn of Brownsville, Tenn.; and a brother, James M. "Mac" Williams, III of Gig Harbor, Wash.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Blytheville.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Great River Charitable Clinic of Mississippi County, the Lord's Ranch Children's Counseling Center in Blytheville or the First United Methodist Church of Blytheville.

Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville was in charge of arrangements.
