Violetta Pickett "Vi" Davis, 92, of Manila, widow of Walter "Jack" Davis, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro. Born at Hornersville, Mo., she was the daughter of the late R.V. and Mary Jeanette Pickett and was a lifelong Manila resident. Mrs. Davis was a member of Manila First Baptist Church, the Eastern Star and a charter member of Manila Business and Professional Womens Club. She was a retired beautician.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Ellen Davis of Charleston, S.C.; her sister, Lola Mitchell of Burton, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Rev. William Piercy, Rev. Ferrel Duffel and Mr. Greg Smith officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. Members of the Business & Professional Womens Club served as honorary pallbearers.
