Ronald Dwayne Nugent, 47, of Manila, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at his home. Born at Blytheville, he was a lifelong Manila resident. He was a 1979 graduate of manila High School and had worked in the oil industry as a geoseismic surveyor.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Marvin Bibbs, and his step-brother, James Brooks.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Peggy and Donnie Brooks of Manila; his father, Norman Nugent of Alexander, La.; a daughter, Ashley Lambert of Steele, Mo.; a sister, Pam Cheadle, of Manila; two step-brothers, Donald Brooks and Larry Brooks, both of Manila; and his grandmother, Eugenia Bibbs of Manila.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. David Fair officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gordon Britt, Charlie Jackson, Stacy Henry, Michael Grable, Rodney Henry, and Melton Atkinson.
