Zona Elzada Gooch, 94, of Leachville died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath. Born at Big Flat, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Viola Freeman Jones. She was the widow of Elmer Gooch and had lived most of her life in the Leachville area. Mrs. Gooch was a charter member of the Happy Corner Assembly of God Church near Leachville where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher and church pianist.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Estell and Epriam Ward, and two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gretha and Bill Bennett of Marshall, Mich., and LaVonda and Jim Walker of Cardwell; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Assembly of God in Leachville with Rev. Tom Newman officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service in Leachville.
