Alma B. Wilson Metz, 79, of Cahokia, Ill., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at her residence. She was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Leachville.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Ill., Cahokia Senior Citizens, AARP, John Fritz Railroad Employees Ladies Auxiliary and Fairview Heights Senior Police Department. She was an avid bowler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Viola Beatrice Ledford Wilson; two brothers, Olan Wilson and Delmar Gene Wilson; and a sister, Ida Smigelski.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Lloyd J. Metz, Sr.; her children, Lloyd J. (Thersa) Metz II of Fenton, Mo., Cynthia A. Metz of O'Fallon, Ill., and Tracey (Mickey) Eddington of New Minden, Ill.; a brother, S.U. Wilson, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Tim Carpenter, Wesley and Nikita Eddington and Elizabeth (Brandon) Tinker; and two great-grandsons, Ty and Avron Tinker.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill. A prayer service was held at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A funeral procession left Braun Colonial Funeral Home to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass with Rev. Paul Wienhoff officiating. Entombment was in Valhalla Mausoleum, Belleville, Ill.
