Lake City

Hugh Edward Flinn, 79, of Lake City died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at his residence in Lake City. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a retired manager of the Schug Town Co-op Cotton Gin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ellen Wallace Flinn; six brothers, Harmon Dunlap, Marvin Dunlap, Pete Dunlap, Elvis Flinn, Everett Flynn, and three sisters Cleo Pack, Elsie Allen, and Valda Lampkin.

He is survived by a son, Edward Allen Flinn, of Jonesboro; two daughters, Pam Newton of Jonesboro and Susan Flinn of Texarkana; a sister, Lettie Bynum of Michigan; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Leon Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Larry Montgomery, Jim Smith, Dennis Hendley, Danny Qualls, Jeremy Newton, Jamie Seaborn, and Eric Newton.
