Caraway

Janice D. Hollands, 60, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident near Lake City. She was born in Caraway and had lived there most of her life. She was a dietary cook for Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City, and also a homemaker. She was a member of the Black Oak Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bond McCowen; a brother, Kenneth Allen McCowen; and a son, Floyd Douglas Hollands.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Lee Hollands of the home; two sons, Timothy Lee Hollands and Mitchell Scott Hollands, both of Caraway; her mother, Opal McCowen, of Rivervale; three sisters, Barbara Hanner of Evening Shade, Susie Anderson and Diane Davis, both of Caraway; six grandchildren, Joshua Lee Hollands, Mary Elizabeth Hollands, Eric Douglas Hollands, Bethany Hollands, Gabriel Hollands, and Caleb Hollands.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Black Oak Assembly of God Church in Black Oak with Rev. Billy Moore and Rev. Glen Strawn officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Greg Hollands, Rickey Hollands, Floyd Hollands, Frank Towery, Roy Towery, Jeremy Towery and Greg Towery. Honorary pallbearers were Odis Gilbee and Michael Hollands.
