Leachville

Sarah "Marie" McFarland of Leachville died July 29, 2007, at her daughter's home in Shreveport, La. She was born in Oil Trough and lived most of her life in Leachville. She was a homemaker and member of Happy Corner Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by W.A. "Alex" McFarland, her husband of 63 years.

Survivors include four sons, Willie McFarland, Carol McFarland, and Ronnie McFarland, all of Leachville, and Glendal McFarland of Tacoma, Wash.; a daughter, Teina Osgood of Shreveport, La.; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville with Rev. Lynn Ables officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Garrett, Seth Garrett, Kenny Francis, Mike Boyd and Tim McFarland. Honorary pallbearers were Blake McFarland, Earnest Edgin and Hugh Rose.
