Lake City

James B. Holbrook, 73, of Lake City died Saturday, May 19, 2007, in NEA Medical Center at Jonesboro. Born in Kentucky, he had lived in Lake City for three and a half years and was a retired steel mill worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilsmon and Audrey Holbrook; six sisters; and two brothers.

Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife, Francella McCord Holbrook, of the home; a daughter, Rhonda Tacker, of Kentucky; a stepdaughter, Julie Gilbee of Florida; three sons, Jerry Holbrook and Denver Holbrook, both of Indiana, and Randy Holbrook of Michigan; three stepsons, Rocky Jackson of New York, Jesse Jackson of South Carolina and Richard Jackson of Michigan; six sisters, Jeanette Stevens, Sharon Justice, Emma Justice, Sue Bailey, Bernice Plunkett and Brenda Hall, all of Michigan; two brothers, Tilsmon Holbrook and David Hall, both of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Trumann with Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Burial was private.
