Caraway

Shirley Jo Dunkerson, of Caraway, died Sunday, April 29, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born in Milligan Ridge on Oct. 23, 1942 to the late Rudolph and Jesse Schoolfield. She was homemaker and a member of the Buffalo Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, J.L. Dunkerson of the home; three sons, James Daniel Dunkerson of Meridian, Miss., Darren Lee Dunkerson and Steven Jarrett Dunkerson both of Caraway; six brothers, Tom Schoolfield of Caraway, James Schoolfield of Kenton, Tenn., Dale Schoolfield of Aurora, Ill., Murl Schoolfield of Caraway, Johney Schoolfield of Kenton, Tenn., and Mike Schoolfield of Meridian, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Jessica Dunkerson, Ronald Dunkerson, Daniel Dunkerson, Chelsea Dunkerson, Dylan Dunkerson, Cullen Dunkerson and Logan Dunkerson; and two great grandchildren, Ani Dunkerson and Corvin Dunkerson.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Schoolfield, Richard Schoolfield and Marvin Schoolfield; and two sisters, Margie Mangrum and Dallie Billingsly.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Caraway First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery.
