Jimmy Dale Bennett, 59, formerly of Leachville, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at St. Vincent Specialty in Little Rock. Born in Monette on July 25, 1947, he was a member of the Leachville First Assembly of God, currently a member of Bassett Church of God near Joiner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cozy and Gilbert Bennett, and one sister, Louise Campbell.

Survivors include two brothers and their wives, Roy and Lucille Bennett of Calvert, Ky., and Billy and Gretha Bennett of Marshall, Mich.; four sisters and their husbands, Lilly and Chet Taylor of Quitman, Wanda and Larry Harrell of Searcy, Pat and Frank Parisano of Bartlett, Tenn., and Gladys and Frank Kelley of Joiner.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Leachville First Assembly of God with rev. James England, Rev. Roy Bennett and Rev. J.L. Campbell officiating with music accompaniment by his niece, Terri Smothers, and his sister, Gladys Kelley. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Greg Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Marty Campbell, Mike Campbell, Mike Davidson, Johnny Hillegas, Greg Kelley and Tony Kelley. Honorary pallbearers were Ken Taylor, Terry Bogue, R.P. Hunter and Howell Smothers.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Sunshine School for Down syndrome in Searcy.
