Phyllis Ann Newman

Hartford, Ala.

Phyllis Ann Newman of Hartford, Ala., died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness. She was 43.

The funeral was held Monday in the chapel of Sorrells funeral Home in Slocomb, Ala., with Dr. Stan Sanford officiating. Burial was at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lake City Cemetery in Lake City.

Mrs. Newman was born Feb. 9, 1964, in Jonesboro to the late Edger and Estell Haynes Hamilton.

Survivors include her husband, James Newman of Hartford; a daughter, Stacy Renea Britt of Jonesboro; four sons, James Britt Jr. and Steven Dewayne Stringer, Johnny Lee Stringer and Robert Christopher Stringer, all of Hartford; two brothers, Ricky Lee Haynes and James Andrew Haynes; four grandchildren, Breanna Stringer, Stormy Leanne Stringer, Cody Hill and Robin Hill; and Several nieces and nephews.

Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb was in charge of arrangements.
