Lake City

Madeline Long, 85, of Lake City died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at her residence. Born in Black Oak on Feb. 19, 1921, she was a homemaker and member of Lake City Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rhoda Varner; three brothers, Jack Varner, William Varner and Arthur Varner; and three sisters, Marjorie Mangrum, Vaudine Varner and Velma Fletcher.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Regnell of Redlands, Calif., and Dianna Neely of Springdale; two sons, Wayne Neely of Mountain Home and George Neely of Isanti, Minn.; a sister, Louetta Jorgenson of San Pedro, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Dunigan officiating. Burial was in the Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Danny Rogers, Randy Reisner, Kyle Schoeppler, Ron Rogers, Kevin Varner and Richard Varner.
