Jonesboro

Willie Rutherford of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Lakeside Nursing Home at Lake City. She was born at Hickory Ridge to the late Nancy Ann and Zeddie Baldwin. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. Mrs. Rutherford taught Sunday school for many years. She loved going to church and reading her Bible. She and her husband owned and worked together at four grocery stores and two cafes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Rutherford, and a daughter, Nina Walter.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann and husband, James McAnear, of Jonesboro, Ina and husband, James Baker, of Calhoun City, Miss., and Elaine Milloway of Clarksville; a son-in-law, Bill Walter of LaPorte, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Dec. 2, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Dr. Bruce Tippit and Kathy Holler officiating. Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Doug Baker, David Baker, Aaron Baker, James Lee Hoffman, Chase Autry, Randy Walter and Jerry Autry. Honorary pallbearers were James McAnear, James Baker, Bill Walter and Jane LaBlanc Sunday School Class.
