L.B. Gunn, Jr., 81, of Manila, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at his daughter's home in Mt. View, Calif. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late Louis B. and Janie Hutton Gunn and was a lifelong Manila resident. He was a retired farmer and former manager of the Buffalo Island Rural Water Association. He was a member of the Manila First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon since 1954 and was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Doris White Gunn of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Christy Gunn of Gallatin, Ten., and Sherrill and Sharon Gunn of Paducah, Ky.;a daughter and son-in-law, Dale Marie and David Weatherford of Mt. View, Calif.; a sister, Florine Couchman of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday at the Manila First Baptist Church with Rev. Ferrel Duffel, Rev. Doyne Robertson, and Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
