Wesley "Wes" Hicks, 75, of Mountain Home died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Sept. 2 at Roller Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael Shy officiating.

Mr. Hicks was born July 14, 1931, in Manila, to Joseph and Thelma Hicks. He married Joyce Lute on May 27, 1949, in Manila. He worked for General Motors in Illinois as a welder until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed fishing on Norfork Lake, spending item with his grandchildren and was active at Twin Lakes Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; sons, Ron Hicks and Mark Hicks, both of Mountain Home, Steve and wife Patti Hicks of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Tim and wife Brenda Hicks of Lakeview; daughters, Judi and husband Jim Welbaum, of Rock Hill, S.C., and Cathy and husband Jerry Hull of Midlothian, Texas; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and five sisters, Louise Hicks, Mildred McWhirter, Ruby Walsh, Reatha Armes and Velma Carbonara.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifford.

Interment was at Baxter Memorial Gardens.
