Mark Dean Davis, 52, of Hornersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, after a six-month illness with severe inflammation of the pancreas. The oldest son of Frank "Sarge" and Mabel Davis of Hornersville, he was born June 17, 1954, at Fort Richardson Army Base at the 5005th Hospital near Anchorage, Alaska. He was an over-the-road truck driver for Steadfast Trucking Co. of Hornersville.

Survivors include two sisters, Debbie Harmon of Caruthersville, Mo., and Gail Penix and husband Bobby Joe of Hornersville; a brother, Neal Davis and wife Sharon of Jonesboro; six nieces and nephews, Amy Davis of Hornersville, Laura Harmon and Lee Ann Harmon, both of Caruthersville, Mindy Harmon of Kennett, Shari Palmer and Brandon Davis, both of Jonesboro; three great-nephews and one great-niece.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 27 in Trinity Baptist Church, Cardwell. Burial was in Horner Cemetery at Hornersville.
