Franklin Roosevelt Piercy - Leachville

Franklin Roosevelt Pierce, 73, of Leachville died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Cardwell, he was the son of the late A.G. and Icel Mae Daily Pierce, Sr. and had been a longtime Leachville area resident. He was the owner/operator of Pierce Trucking in Leachville for 50 years and a Mason.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Ocle Lee Nunnery Pierce, of the home; a son, Frank Pierce, Jr., of Leachville; two daughters, Diane Bolar and Phyllis Jones, both of Leachville; a brother, James Pierce of Arbyrd; five sisters, Lorene Shapiro and Mary Baker, both of Cardwell, Patsy Tillman of Jonesboro, Imogene Young of Racine, Wis., and Francis Veal of Olympia, Wash.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with David Lawrence officiating. Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
