Lucille Vassar - Manila

Annamae Lucille Vassar, 82, of Manila, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at her home. Born at East St. Louis, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John and Iva Mae Zolman Hardy and had been a Manila resident most of her life. She was the widow of Eugene Vassar, who died earlier this year, and was a retired nurse's aide for the Manila Nursing Center.

She is survived by five sons, Bobby Vassar and his wife, Hazel, of Hartford, Mich., Pete Vassar and his wife, Jimmie, of Hartford, Mich., Jerry Vassar and his wife, Connie, of Manila, Phillip Vassar and his wife, Deborah, of Jonesboro, and Terry Vassar of Manila; four daughters, Bonnie Estes and her husband, Boyd, of Hardy, Ann Miles and her husband, Ervin, of Ravenden, Linda Coleman of Manila, and Debbie Vassar of Manila; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
