Della Lorraine Johnson - Leachville

Della Lorraine Johnson, 94, of Leachville, widow of W.V. "Pappy" Johnson, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Monette Manor Nursing Home. Born at Marmaduke, she was the daughter of John and Jewel Ward Dortch and had been a Leachville resident since 1919. Mrs. Johnson first shared her musical talent by playing the piano at the movie theater in Leachville during the silent movie days and later as pianist of the Second Baptist Church where she and her husband were long time members.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald "Butch" Johnson and Freddie of Paragould; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and John Yuhas of Elizabethton, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Mike and Mark Cunningham, John Yuhas, Jr., and Greg Johnson; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Wylie Johnson, Jr.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Russell Rhodes officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.
