Kenneth Curtwright Sr. - Paragould

Kenneth Orval Curtwright Sr., 71, of Paragould died Dec. 21, 2005, at his home. He was born June 10, 1934, in Manila. He moved to Flint, Mich., after graduation at Greene County Tech in 1953 and worked at the Buick Motor Division. He was a Southern Gospel singer and sang with the Gospelairs, which changed its name to The Calvaryman Quartet, for 15 years. He then moved back to Paragould and worked at L.A. Darling and Arkla. He owned Ken's Quality Carpets and also worked at AR-MO Homes. He was also an emcee and founding member of the Songsmen Quartet for 35 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Marie Clubb Curtwright.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Jean Black Curtwright; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Gene Curtwright of Paragould, Kenneth O. Jr. and Debbie Rosse Curtwright of Jonesboro, and Edward Lee and Trudy Curtwright of Paragould; daughter and son-in-law, Janice Marie Curtwright and Kevin Clark of Paragould; six grandchildren, Samantha Carol Hogue of California, Megan Marie Curtwright, Brandon Mark Clark, Brittney Nicole Clark, and Brooke Daniele Clark, all of Paragould, and Matthew Rosse Curtwright of Jonesboro; and a great-granddaughter, Tabitha Analese Hogue of California.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Brother Shannon Morgan officiating. Burial was at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Charles Woodson, Alton Barnett, Rick Mann, Rick Curtwright, Ken Curtwright, Ed Curtwright, Kevin Clark, and Brandon Clark.

Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Curtwright, Gaylon Gammill, Buddy Mann, Tracy Bacon, Ed Rayburn, Ray Crutchfield, Jim Glasco, Charles Glasco, Calvin Prestage, and Robert Sparks.
