Marcus Dean Davidson - Manila

Marcus Dean Davidson, 84, of Manila, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born at Thyda, he was the son of the late Jessie and Pherby Nolen Davidson and had been a Manila resident since 1934. He retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department after 28 years serving as a road foreman. He was a member of the Manila Masonic Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lilly Morris Davidson, three half brothers and a half sister.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Marcus Davidson, Jr. and Carolyn of Searcy; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Gordon Cachola of New Baden, Ill.; three sisters; Irene Armstrong of Washington state, Elizabeth Modesitt of Manila, and Delphia Fudge of Rockford, Ill.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery.
