Carl D. Brannum, 79, of Jonesboro, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Crest Park Nursing Center in Stuttgart, where he had resided for the past few months. Burial was private after visitation, under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Born at Leachville, he lived in Osceola before moving to Jonesboro in 1964. He was a retired car salesman for Central Chevrolet in Jonesboro and was of the Baptist belief. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include a son, Sam Brannum of Little Rock; a daughter, Kathy Prislovsky, of Stuttgart; a brother, Don Brannum, of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Iantha Edwards, of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Amanda Prislovsky, Sarah Prislovsky and Sam Prislovsky.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Bernice Brannum; and his parents, Sam and Clyde Mae Simpkins Brannum.
