Herbert "Papa" Ryckman

Herbert "Papa" Attrill Ryckman, 84, of Williford, formerly of Osceola, died Wednesday, July 13, at White River Medical Center at Batesville. Born at Vallejo, Calif., he was a navy veteran of World War II. He received a number of decorations during his military service. After his discharge, he was a member of the Naval Reserve. He retired as a maintenance manager for American Greetings Corp.

Survivors include two daughters, Penelope Hadley of Williford and Priscilla Nichols of Miami; a son, Eric Ryckman of Ash Flat; five grandchildren, Christopher Hadley of Bartlett, Tenn., Amanda Ryckman Ervin of Maumelle, Audrey Nichols Jones of Cordova, Tenn., Brandon Ryckman of San Diego and Rebecca Ryckman of Osceola; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Kriss Ryckman.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Community of Christ Church of Cherokee Village. Urn placement was in Memphis at the Forest Hill East Cemetery.
