Jessie Ray Bennett - Caraway

Jessie Ray Bennett, 61, of Caraway, died May 6, 2005, at his residence.

He was a retired farmer. He was born in Trumann and had lived in Caraway the last 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Bennett of the home: two sisters, Jeanette Burilson of Brookland and a twin sister, Bessie Cook, of Tulot; a son, Jimmy Rogers of Caraway; a daughter Teona Bowman of Caraway; four grandchildren, Jamie Lick, Michelle Pendergrass, Lauren and Lindsey Bennett, all of Caraway; one great-granddaughter, Ally Pendergrass.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nathan "Buck" and Florence Clark Bennett, and a brother, Shorty Bennett.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Gregg Chapel in Monette with Bill Willard officiating. Burial was at the Caraway Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge.

Active pallbearers were Anthony Fletcher, Willie Boatman, Danny Grubbs, Jerry Bynum, Johnny Boatman, and Johnny McCammon.

Honorary pallbearers were Ed Smith, Lewis Presley, and Garland Tipton.
