Wayne Toombs - Blytheville

Wayne Toombs, 67, of Blytheville died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, near Etowah.

Born in Caraway, he was the owner of Toombs Tunes, a former disc jockey for KLCN radio station and a member of the Blytheville Police Reserve where he was a former chief. He was a driver and escort for Toombs Transport Service, a former member of the Army Reserves and a member of Buffalo Chapel Church in Caraway.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Waugh Toombs of the home; a son, Ricky Toombs of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Wayna Ann Jones of Manila and Latonya Wyatt of Blytheville; a brother, Randy Toombs of Jonesboro; two sisters, Joann Riley of Caraway and Phyllis Clay of Trumann; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Floyd and Hallie Mae Dunkerson Toombs.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville with Rev. Jimmy Russell and Rev. Gary Hyde officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery.
