Clyde Burtis "Jack" Morries - Manila

Clyde Burtis "Jack" Morries, 84, of Manila, died Sunday, March 12, 2005, at his home.

Born at Callou, Mo., he was the son of the late Louis and Martha Wilburn Morries and had been a Manila resident for over 75 years. He was a self-employed trader, having dealt in livestock and antiques. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Ines Williams Morries of the home; three sons, Tom Morries of Manila, Danny Morries of Bono, and Johnny Morries of Manila; a daughter, Pat Austin of Manila; a sister, Irene "Pete" Davidson of Manila; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Louis Morries, a grandson, Michel Keith Austin, and a step-grandson, Richie Austin.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. Ray Dill and Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

The family will receive visitors from 6-9 p.m. this evening (Tuesday) at the Calvary Baptist Church.
