Lucy Geneva Brooks - Caraway

Lucy Geneva Brooks, 82, of Caraway, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was a homemaker and retired from Arkansas State University. She was a member of Caraway First Baptist Church and had live in Caraway all of her life.

She is survived by a sister, Vera Isermann of Peteluma, Calif.; two brothers, Bud Pittman of Caraway and Buck Pittman of Midland, Texas; four sons, Bill Brooks of Belleville, Ill., Phillip Brooks of Caraway, Floyd Brooks of Jonesboro, and Lloyd Brooks of Jonesboro; a daughter, Patty Smith of Osceola; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Binford and Ivy Pittman; husband, C.A. Brooks; two sons, Michael and Garry Brooks; a granddaughter, Natalie Brooks; a brother, Pete Pittman; and three sisters, Mattie Butler, Ada Tenalio, and Eava Ramsey.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Caraway First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Nephews and friends served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the TEL Sunday School Class of Caraway First Baptist Church.
