Harvey McQurrie Brandon - Monette

Harvey McQurrie Brandon, 63, of Monette, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical center in Jonesboro.

He was a truck driver for J.B. Hunt, member of Monette Church of Christ, and aught the adult men and women's Sunday School class. He was born June 11, 1941, in Crockett, Miss., and had lived in Monette for 22 years. He was formerly of Jacksonville. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion and Monette Masonic Lodge 558. He was a member of the Monette Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda J. Brandon, of the home: two sisters, Mary Brandon of Wildwood, Fla., and Lynda Walker of Jonesboro; a brother, Bennie Brandon of Summersfield, Fla.; three sons, Timothy W. Brandon of Oakland, Calif., Kenneth M. Brandon of Monette, and Thomas W. Brandon of Paragould; two daughters, Kelly Anne Broad of Green River, Utah, Kara Brandon Davis of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Candience Davis, Courtney Davis, Ryan Davis, Ashton Davis, William Cody Broad, Amber Leighanne Broad, Joshua W. Brandon, Marissa Diane Brandon and Nancy Marie Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Franklin and Jimmie Ernestine Brandon, and a brother, James Freeman Brandon.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Monette Church of Christ with Kevin Baldridge, Byron Sparkman, and Larry Woodward officiating. Burial was in Moentte Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Active pallbearers were Christopher Brandon, Michael Brandon, Lewis Davis, Ralph Webb, Brad Yopp, and Hershel Stepp.

Honorary pallbearers were Paul Baker, Jerry Reed, Bob George, Junior Palmer, Noel Eggers, C.G. Stewart, James McFarlin and Tom Carroll.
