Henry Oran "Jack" Whitten - Monette

Henry Oran "Jack" Whitten, 89, of Monette died Feb. 10, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a retired cotton ginner, member of Monette Church of Christ, and had lived in the Monette area most of his life. He was a member of Woodman of the World.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Arthur Cornish of Elizabeth City, N.C., Anita and Bill Medlock of Dixon, Ill., and Betty and Jerry Drake of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren, Lisa Cornish, Cathy Owens, William Medlock, Jeff Pressinell, Theresa Pressinell, and Cindy Pavy; 14 great-grandhcildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Sarah Whitten, his wife, Gracie Ada Whitten, four brothers, Raymond, Russell, Hubert, and Harvey Whitten, and a sister, Virgie Whitley.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Gabor Siklosi officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Matthew Whitten, Butch Whitten, Jerry Whitten, Alex Whitten, Lloyd Carmichael, and Wendall Gadberry.
