Flora May Tipton - Jonesboro

Flora May Tipton, 93, of Jonesboro, formerly of Manila, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Serra Godia, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Will and Clidia Keith Stutts and had been a Manila resident for most of her life. She was the widow of Jack Tipton and was a retired school teacher. She was a longtime member of the Manila First United Methodist Church and had been a member of the First Assembly of God in Jonesboro for the past seven years.

She is survived by a son, Ken Tipton of Bieglow; a daughter, Mary Ellen Wilbanks of Jonesboro; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Brigadier General Carl W. Tipton.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Carl Anders officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Michael Wilbanks, Jon Wilbanks, Ed Wilbanks, Joel Wilbanks, Tim Tipton and Mark Tipton.

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Greer and John Beranek.
