Dwight "Ike" Adams - Jonesboro

Dwight "Ike" Adams, 60, of Jonesboro died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at NEA Medical Center.

Born at Lake City, he lived in Black Oak before moving to Jonesboro in 1975. He was a cryogenic specialist for Air Gas Inc. of Jonesboro where he worked for 38 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, the Jonesboro Bass Club and the Riverside Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Adams of the home; two daughters, Tammy Griffin and Amy Metcalf, both of Jonesboro; his mother, Mable "Bood" Adams of Lake City; a sister, Marcela Hale of Lake City; and three grandchildren, Justin Griffin, Amber Metcalf and Hannah Griffin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Adams.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Jolly and Rev. Winford Bridges officiating.

Active pallbearers were David Chastain, Tommy Martin, Mike Gibbs, Van Stuckey, Stuart Rogers and Kelley Beckner.

Honorary pallbearers were Kent Kelly, Andy Griffin, Harold Clark, Bob Ducheck, Carl Lee Mitchell and Pete Williams.
