Martha Harris Tillie - Leachville

Martha Harris Tillie, 53, of Leachville, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Margie Smith Carmichael and had been a Leachville resident for the past 10 years. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her longtime companion, Robert Harris, of Leachville: a son, Thurman Boatman of Manila; seven daughters, Tappy Jean Decker and Mary Ann Boatman, both of Manila, Mary Jane Mason of Mississippi, Jennifer Carmichael of Jonesboro, Amanda Tillie of Pioneer, La., Deanna Edwards of Manila, and Donna Weir of New York City, N.Y.; two brothers, Tommy Carmichael of Burdette and Clarence Carmichael of Leachville; three sisters, Patsy Norton of Pioneer, La., Tappy Bedwell of Jonesboro and Amy McCain of Lake City; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Leachville Cemetery with Rev. Mark Constant officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
