James Clifford Glidewell - Caraway

James Clifford Glidewell, 76, of Caraway died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at his home.

Born in St. Francis, he had lived most of his adult life in Caraway. He was a retired depot agent with Cottonbelt Railroad, member of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge #207 in St. Francis and member of the Caraway First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Glidewell.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Glidewell, of the home; a son, James H. Glidewell, of Caraway; a daughter, Myra Morris, of Russellville; a sister, Shirley Haywood, of St. Francis; five grandchildren, Heather Morris Johnson, Sarah Morris, Chris Glidewell, Ian Glidewell and John Glidewell, and two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Glidewell and Elijah Glidewell.

Services were 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Caraway with Bro. Rick Stevens and Bro. Zane Gragg officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Robert Adcock, Donnie Kelton, Bill Riley, John Starnes, Robert Banks and Larry Barrett.

Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Schoolfield, L.T. Gibson, Floyd Johnson, Asa Boatman, Paul Taylor, Alan Boatman, Oscar Kee, Mitch Tipton and the Adult 1 Sunday School Class of the Caraway First Baptist Church.
