Opal Alene Horton - Cardwell

Opal Alene Horton, 75, of Cardwell, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She worked at Southland Schools for 25 years and attended Boon's Chapel Church of Christ in Steele, and Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell.

Survivors include her husband, Henry C. Horton Jr. of the home; a son, Ronnie Horton of Steele; a daughter Kathy Miburn of Cardwell; and three grandchildren, Michael Horton of Steele, Scott Hambrick of Orlando, Fla., and Julie Pierce of Paragould.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merdie and Pearl McGougan Henley.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Heath Funeral Home Colonial chapel in Paragould with Michael Horton and the Rev. Leland Dement officiating. Burial was in the Linwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Letson, Terry Letson, Rick Cross, Harvey Beasley, Michael Brown and Doug Demmett.

Honorary pallbearers were Louis Wyatt, Frank Allen Copeland and Jerry Smith.
