Charles Eugene Williams - Manila

Charles Eugene Williams, 73, of Manila, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at the Manila Nursing Center.

Born near the Milligan Ridge Community, he had been a longtime resident of California and Illinois before returning to the Manila area in 1987. He was a retired welder having worked as a ship builder for many years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Williams, Jr. of Effingham, Ill., and Kevin Williams of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four daughters, Evelyn Germer of Jacksonville, Fla., Denise Oches of Newton, Ill., Peggy Williams of Effingham, Ill., and Julie Williams of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a brother, Jimmy Williams of Manila; a sister, Mary McCarty of East Peoria, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Manila Cemetery with Brother Waymon Holt officiating. Services were under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
