Velmer Louise Mayfield - Lake City

Velmer Louise Mayfield, 89, of Lake City died Friday, July 2, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Goobertown, she had lived in the Lester Community most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Marion W. Mayfield of Lake City; a daughter, Millie Henson of Jonesboro; and a grandson, Brian K. Ford, of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Maude Sims, a sister and three brothers.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home at Jonesboro with G.W. Endicott officiating. Burial was in Nettleton Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles McGaughey, Heath McGaughey, Kelly McGaughey, Kyle McGaughey, Keith Hayes and Harold Lewis.
