Barbara Ludean Bankston - Black Oak

Barbara Ludean Bankston, 68, of Black Oak, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at the Northeast Arkansas Hospital.

She was born in Caraway and lived in Shubuta, Miss., before moving to Black Oak in 1981. She had owned and operated a restaurant in Shubuta and later went to work for Elam Enterprises, working there until her retirement. She was of the Baptist belief.

She is survived by her husband, John Bankston, of the home; a son, Mike Bankston, of Jonesboro; a daughter, Theresa Bankston, of Black Oak; a brother, Earl Reddings, of Benton Harbor, Mich., a sister, Wanda Reddings, of Jonesboro; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Bankston, and her parents, Lester and Thelma Mausby.

A graveside service was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Pine Hill Cemetery with Rev. Don Miller officiating. Burial was under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
