Mary Frances Smith - Manila

Mary Frances Smith, 72, of Manila died Wednesday, June 22, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Plantersville, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Irene Johnson Towery and had been a longtime Manila area resident. She was the widow of Lonnie Smith. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include two sisters, vena Hatley of Rogers and Bernice Campbell of Bentonville. She also leaves an extended family, the staff of the Manila Nursing Center and two very dear friends, Melinda Crawford and Vickie Morris, both of Manila.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Rudy Burrow officiating. Howard Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements. Employees and staff at the Manila Nursing Center served as honorary pallbearers.
