Orphas "O.E." Minick - Lake City

Orphas "O.E." Minick, 82, of Lake City died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Batesville.

He had lived in Craighead County for 50 years and was of the Baptist belief. He was a World War II veteran and a charter member of the World War II Memorial.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Minick of Lake City; a son, David Eugene Minick of Evening Shade; two daughters, Sandra Kay Hattenhauer of Batesville and Teresa Marie Brown of Cave City; four stepsons, Richard Bond, William Bond, Gary Bond and David Bond, all of Lake City; five stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Smith and Connie Baney, both of Jonesboro, Georgia Thomas of Black Rock, Vickie Hickey of Bay and Laura Jo Cudd of Indiana; two brothers, Leon Minick of Egypt and Oneal Minick of Bay; three sisters, Emily Lawson of Jonesboro, Georgia Veteto of cave City and Sue Minick of Bay; five grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday), at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel with Clarence Cornish officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery near Brookland.

Pallbearers are Richard Bond Houston Thomas, Stacy Thomas, Steve Hickey, Jimmy Minick and Mike Niswonger.
