James Clifford White - Leachville

James Clifford White, 87, of Leachville, died Monday, May 10, 2004, at the V.A. Medical center in Memphis. Born at Walnut Ridge, he spent most of his life in Manila and caraway and had been a Leachville resident for the past nine years. He was the son of the late Rufus T. and Mimmie White, was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and was a member of the American Legion for 40 years. He was a retired electrician and a member of the Manila First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Dunning White, of Leachville; a son, Clifford W. White of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; a step-son, Ted Johnson, of Leachville; two brothers, Paul White of Imboden and Jewell White of Sillesbee, Texas; two sisters, Marie Robertson of Melbourne, and Bessie Hetler of Manila: four granddaughter and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Tildon White, a step-son, William Gray, and three brothers, Albert white, Doyle White and Ray White.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jim Fowler and Rev. Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery.
