Bill Coy - Brookland

Bill Coy, 87, of Brookland, died Monday, April 19, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born at Portia, he had lived in Dixie for 50 years and was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in the Dixie community.

Survivors include a son, James Coy of Lake City; three daughters, Sherri Coffman and Joan Baker, both of Jonesboro, and Peggy Gunn of Paragould; two sisters, Alice Jewell Brun of Little Rock and Helen Whitney of Lake City; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Ovean Coy; his parents, Jim and Artie Carlisle Coy; a sister, a brother, and two grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Pine Log Cemetery with Rev. Joel McMasters officiating. Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
