Theodore "Ted" Shutt Jr., 68, of Amarillo, Texas, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004.

He was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Arbyrd to Theodore C. Sr., and Ocea Shutt. He was a graduate of Leachville High School.

He married Susan L. Stultz on June 1, 1962, in Amarillo. He was retired from the Air Force after more than 20 years of service. He worked for Pantex for 20 years.

He was a member of VFW and was a member of Family Life Fellowship Church. He was a member of Pantex Union, IAM.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Abbott and husband, John, of Amarillo; a son, Bryce C. Shutt, M.D., of Waco, Texas; three sisters, Grace Moody and husband, Austin, of Madison, Tenn., Sharon Burkewitz and husband, Bob, of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., and Barbara Shutt of Lewisport, Ky.; four brothers, Bill Shutt and wife, Jean, of Lewisport, John Taylor Shutt and wife, Gladys, of Conroe, Mike Shutt and wife, JoNeil, of Paragould, and Ronnie Shutt of Arbyrd; and two grandchildren, Aaron Young and Kaila Young, both of Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Home W. Shutt and Donnie Shutt; and his parents.

The funeral was held on Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dale Travis, pastor of Family Life Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
