Rev. Leonard Bunch - Black Oak

Rev. Leonard Bunch, 74, of Black Oak died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at the VA Hospital in Memphis. Born at Black Oak, he was a longtime Baptist minister who founded and pastured several churches in Northeast Arkansas. He also was a retired salesman and was a member of New Hope-Black Oak Baptist Church near Caraway. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Annette, J. Bunch of the home; two sons, Lynn Bunch of Little Rock and Tim Bunch of Jonesboro; a daughter, Sherri Gray of Paragould; three step-daughters, Carla Swan of Bay, Janie Ellis of Searcy and Cindy Adams of Russellville; two stepsons, Darrell Jones of Kenset and Ricky Jones of Harrisburg; a sister, Inez Weaver of Shreveport, La.; a brother, Monroe Bunch of Jonesboro; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Bunch; a brother, M.G. Bunch; and his parents, Charlie and Myrtle McHalffey Bunch.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Emerson Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
