Jimmy E. Strickland - Jonesboro

Jimmy E. Strickland, 70, of Jonesboro died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Black Oak, he had lived in Anaheim, Calif., before moving to Jonesboro in 1991. He was the owner and operator of Strickland Machining and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a son, Rocky Strickland of Norco, Calif.; a daughter, Martha Jean Prince of Norco; two brothers, Donald Strickland of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Bob Strickland of Yorba Linda, Calif.; three sisters, Norma Herbel of Anaheim, Johnnie Sue Strickland of Kingman, Ariz., and Phyllis Dries of Solvang, Calif.; four grandchildren, Nathan Price, Shaunna Price, Kevin Strickland and Kimberly Strickland; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha L. Strickland, and a brother.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Cemetery near Bono under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
