Gennetta Geraldine Jackson - Blytheville

Gennetta "Geraldine" Jackson, 85, of Blytheville, formerly of the Etowah Community, died March 20, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Osceola.

Born in the Reyno-Corning area, she was a lifelong resident of the Etowah Community, where she was a housewife and member of the West Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, LaVelle Mann of Blytheville and Patricia, and husband Larry Ellis of Gosnell; a son, Earl "Bud", and wife Glenda Jackson of Manila; six grandchildren, Melita Sims, Gina Pitman, Rhonda Metheny, Dana Simpkins, Greg Ellis and Kevin Ellis; eight great-grandchildren, Corey Sims, Kayla Jackson, Camden Metheny, Clayton Redding, Sidney Simpkins, Zack Ellis, Tammra Ellis and Chris Ellis; two sisters, Wilma Stinnett of Newark, Calif., and Eula Lambert of Rochelle, Ill.; three brothers, Joe Cockrum of Ceres, Calif., Ray Cockrum of Silver City, N.C., and Ted Cockrum of Wagoner, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Cockrum and Addie Keel Cockrum; her husband, Earl Jackson; three brothers, Loran Cockrum, Hubert Cockrum and G.W. Cockrum; three sisters, Bessie Cockrum Phillips, Reba Cockrum Evans and Phyllis Nienhuis; and a grandson, David Mann.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Murphy Funeral Home chapel in Lepanto, Bro. William Percy officiating. Burial will be in Garden Point Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ernie Girdley, Jimmy Russell, Ted Tittle, grandsons, Greg Ellis and Kevin Ellis, and great-grandson, Corey Sims.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Center, St. Bernards Medical Center, Jonesboro.
