Yonnie Evaline Harris - Steele

Yonnie Evaline Harris, 80, of Steele, the widow of James F. Harris, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at River Oaks Care Center in Steele. Born at Jonesboro, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha Turner and had been a Steele resident for the past 10 years. She was a former long time Manila resident and was a member of the Eastern Star having served as Worthy Matron. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.

She is survived by a son, James Harold Harris of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, betty Lou Smith of Flagstaff, Ariz., Eva Jeanette Enzor of Fayetteville, and Marilyn Mae Crews of Steele; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie A. Turner and Johnnie Lee Turner; two half brothers, Raymond Taylor and Kent Taylor; and a half sister, Thelma Hicks.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jim Mousie and Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors this evening (Tuesday) from 6-8 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Home.
