Hester May Clayton - Manila

Hester May Clayton, 95, of Manila, the widow of Jess Clayton, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at her home. Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Nute and Ida Florence Moore and had been a lifelong Manila resident. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Home Extension Club for more than 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jack Walker of Manila; a son-in-law, Al Kinchen of Fredericksburg, Texas; a sister, Esther Lee Mifflin of Manila; five grandchildren, Junie Matthews, Sandy Brown, Randy Allen Kinchen, Michael John Kinchen, and Bethany Simpson; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, June Kinchen and her sister, Jewel Sharp.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Manila with Al Kinchen officiating. Howard Funeral service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
